Forest Bathing Recap: The Forest Has Your Back

2022 Forest Bathing Series - “The Forest Has Your Back”

Exhale your stress and inhale the reciprocal relationship we share with Trees.

On Saturday, April 9, six brave souls came out to Forest Bath in unpredictable, cold Indiana spring weather — Brrrrrrr! We immersed ourselves in the beautiful forest, lake and river that is part of The Virginia B. Fairbanks Art and Nature Park: 100 Acres at Newfields.

We discussed the mantra of many forest bathers “ The Forest has your back”, with a focus on the reciprocal relationship that humans have with trees. Nature shared herself to our group by: a soaring eagle over our group meeting spot, a blue heron eating breakfast around the lake, a squirrel snacking on nuts up in a tree, a Spring robin eating a worm, woodpeckers and many other birds singing to one another, new plants and flowers emerging from the brown, winter ground cover. After returning from time in solitude spent in the woods the group returned with gifts from nature to build a group mandala as part of our closing tea ceremony.

Our next Forest Bathing is Connecting with Mother Earth on May 7, 2022.
