Forest Bathing Recap: Dreaming into the Speaking Land
On Saturday, September 30, Balanced Soul Forest Bathers met at The Virginia B. Fairbanks Art and Nature Park: 100 Acres at Newfield’s for “Dreaming into the Speaking Land.”
At this event, forest bathers came to experience the forest as an oracle that speaks to us using signs, symbols, and synchronicity. To begin, we sat together in a pollinator meadow overlooking a lake and discussed the Indigenous people who previously lived on the land: the Miami, Shawnee, and Illinois. We imagined how these people would have lived and how they may have used the nearby White River as a means of transportation. We reviewed Seven Rules to More Magical Encounters by Ted Andrews to help set the tone for a deeper connection to nature.
We played the game “Forest Tarot,” adapted from the work of author Robert Moss. The group was taught how to pose questions about life issues and concerns and bring back answers gifted to us from the woods. We created stones with messages to be left along a path, hoping to create an experience of synchronicity for another individual in the same area.
We ended our time with a group Mandala and a cup of Stress-Free Tea sweetened with honey.
Forest encounters from the group included: Vibrant purple and yellow pollinator bushes; bees, bees, and more bees; leaves changing color; bass jumping in the lake; wind in the trees; mist on the lake; joggers; warm sunshine; a hawk; and an outdoor yoga class.
Join us for our FINAL Balanced Soul Forest Bathing experience this year! Healing with Nature, November 4, 2023. Only one (1) spot remains!
